Case Study: Whirlowbrook Hall – Sheffield 5* Review
Back in September 2019, I had the privilege to attend a beautiful sparkler fuelled wedding at Whirlowbrook Hall. The couple were a shy couple so decided rather than to do speeches, they were going to enlist my services as a magician and mind reader to create a focal point. As a result they hired me to perform both my stage show and my close up set. After much fun, it was time for their photos and with bonfire night approaching everyone was given sparklers for the ‘confetti shot’. The end result was amazing. It was a real treat to work at Whirlowbrook Hall, so decided to write a little review.
Even though Wirlowbrook Hall is pretty central to Sheffield, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the middle of the Peak District. It sits back off Eccleshall Road South and commands an envious place surrounded by trees, a welcoming drive and traditional interior features. Unlike many other wedding venues I have visited, this one is an exclusive venue so you are safe in the knowledge that on your wedding day you will be getting a personalised service without bumping into another bride or groom which has happen in the past at other venues.
As a performer, despite being booked by the client, I often feel neglected by the staff and somewhat of a hindrance to their roles. However, they were attentive and helpful and were perfectly flexible for the bride and grooms requests. Sometimes reviews talk about the beautiful grounds, amazing food and decadent interior of a wedding venue. It’s so easy to forget about the quality and the competence of the staff who will be assisting and waiting on you all day. Often they do so with little thanks as it comes as part of the wedding package. However, the service offered at Whirlowbrook was superb and everything requested was accommodated for.
So on with the Hall itself; Whirlowbrook was originally a family manor house built by Percy Fawcett in 1906. In 1951 Whirlowbrook Hall opened her grounds to the public, and the venue has since established itself as one of Sheffield’s premier event and wedding venues. It’s set in 39 acres of beautiful parkland and the manor house itself sits on an elevated terrace with amazing views of the gardens.
But it’s not just weddings that Whirlowbrook Hall can be hired for. You can make use of the services and facilities at Whirlowbrook for special events and celebrations such as birthday parties, wedding anniversaries etc. It can also play host to your company event or business conference with 7 conference rooms.
Some of the facilities that Whirlowbrook boast include free Wi-Fi, free onsite parking, full venue exclusivity, and an excellent ensemble of waitering and event planning staff. For more information please do not hesitate to get in touch via their website www.whirlowbrookhall.co.uk
If you wanted to pop in and say hello, they also host a number of wedding fayres throughout the year. These are all free entry and the next one is on the 23rd February 2020 respectively. You will also have the chance to meet an number of their other recommended suppliers too, to ensure your day is as magical as you dreamed it would be.
